A subscription maintenance service from Gardener & Son. Three tiers, ecological from the first visit, with field notes recorded every time.
Pick the subscription that matches the garden's ambition. Each tier sets the visit cadence and the level of ecological care.
Your steward visits, establishes the garden's baseline — existing species, soil, EVC — and sets the seasonal calendar for the year.
Regular visits, field notes, species recording, and a year-end condition report. Cancel any time. Pause for up to 8 weeks per year if you need to.
All tiers include a dedicated G&S steward, field notes every visit, and an annual condition report. Mulch is quoted separately per property.
Annual subscriptions are paid upfront and can be cancelled any time. See the FAQ for details.
Every visit is recorded. Every species noted. The field notes build over time into a picture of your garden's ecological condition — one that a new pair of eyes could pick up and understand.
How does the initial visit work?
Your steward visits, walks the garden with you, records the existing species, assesses the soil, and identifies the ecological vegetation class. From this baseline we set the seasonal calendar and start the field notes.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. Monthly subscribers can cancel at any time — your subscription runs to the end of the current billing month, with no further visits scheduled after that.
What happens if I cancel an annual subscription early?
The annual rate is a discount for paying upfront. If you cancel partway through, we charge the standard monthly rate for visits already delivered and refund the difference. No further penalty.
Can I pause my subscription?
Grove and Canopy subscribers can pause for up to 8 weeks per year at no charge — useful for winter, travel, or renovations. Billing pauses with the service; your subscription end-date moves forward by the pause duration.
Is mulch included?
No. Mulch quality varies enormously by property and we'd rather quote honestly. Each subscriber receives a separate mulch quote when needed.
Who comes to my garden?
A dedicated steward who knows your block. Continuity matters — the field notes only build value if the same eyes return to read them.
What's the Ecological Registry?
A public-record-style platform Gardener & Son maintains, tracking ecological condition across enrolled gardens. Grove and Canopy subscribers' species observations are recorded there as part of the service.
